What is the weather in Seville, in one minute?

Seville has two real seasons and two in-betweens. Winter runs from December to February and is mild, with daytime highs of 16° to 18° and nights near 6° to 8°. Spring is quick and pleasant. Summer is brutal. Autumn is a second, wetter spring, and that is the part most pages gloss over. Here is the year:

Read the temperature first: it climbs from 16° in January to 37° in July, then drops back. Then the rain: three bumps, in March, October and November, with almost nothing from June to August. For a single month, the Seville page is quicker.

What is the best month to visit Seville?

May is the best month in our data, and it is the only month that is both warm and dry. The high is 28°, the night low 15°, rain is 33 mm and cloud is below 40 percent. April is close (23°, 64 mm) but cooler and wetter. By June the high is 33° and the evenings are still warm.

If you need to fix dates, pick the last week of April to the end of May. For the other warm and dry places that month, see where is warm in May.

Is Seville too hot in summer?

For most people working at a desk, yes, from late June to early September. July and August average 37° highs with nights around 22°, and the stored data holds under 1 mm of rain in July and 3 mm in August. June is already 33° and September 32°. Those are monthly averages, so the hottest afternoons are well above them.

Summer here is a life of mornings and evenings with the shutters down at midday. Plenty of nomads leave. The Atlantic coast is much easier in those months, as where is warm in July shows, with Lisbon at 28° against Seville's 37°.

Is autumn a good time to go?

Better than summer, but wetter than it sounds. October has a 27° high and a pleasant 16° night, which is lovely, but it also has 74 mm of rain. November drops to 20° and 78 mm, the wettest month of the year in our data. Autumn rain in southern Spain tends to fall in short, heavy spells rather than a grey season, so many days are still bright.

Treat September (32°, 15 mm) as the last hot month and October as a mixed one. If you want dry, wait for February.

What is winter in Seville like?

Mild and fairly bright, but not warm. January has a 16° high, 6° night and 54 mm of rain, with the least cloud of the winter (about 42 percent). February is the best winter month: 18° by day, 8° at night and only 31 mm of rain. March is warmer, at 20°, but wetter at 72 mm.

Houses in Seville are built for summer, so flats can feel cold in January even when it is sunny outside. Ask about heating before you book a winter stay. If your goal is winter warmth, Seville is not it; see the warmest places in Europe in winter. Málaga in winter, on the coast, has about the same daytime highs but nights 2 to 3 degrees warmer.

What do the nights and the sun do through the year?

Nights matter more than days here. In July and August the low is 22°, so flats without air conditioning stay warm well after dark, while in January the low is 6°, cold enough that indoor work needs heating. The sun is the most reliable thing about Seville: cloud cover is only 7 percent in July and 13 percent in August, and even in the greyest months, March to April and October to November, it stays around 45 to 50 percent.

Which months for a long stay?

This is a weather view only. It does not include air conditioning, rent, festivals or crowds. Seville's spring fairs fill the city and raise prices, and we hold no data on that.

How sure are these numbers?

They are month-of-year averages for one point in Seville from stored climate data (Open-Meteo archive, 2015 to 2025), so any single year can be wetter or drier. Airport stations and other sites quote slightly different figures. Cloud is the average share of sky covered, not hours of sunshine.
