What is the weather like in Boracay by month?

Boracay is warm in every month, so the question is rain, not temperature. Here is the year:

Boracay weather by month: average highs from 27 to 30°C and lows from 24 to 26°C; hottest in May, coolest in January

The temperature band barely moves: 27° to 30°, with nights of 24° to 26°. The rain line is the story: a dry window from February to April, a first bump in May, then four months of 484 to 605 mm, with the peak in July. A rainy day here is a day with at least 4 mm of rain, so these are real wet days, not drizzle.

Is Boracay dry from November to May?

No, and this is what most pages get wrong. They give one "dry season" from November to May. In our data November and December are still wet, with about 20 and 21 rainy days and cloud at 77 percent in both. Rain comes in short heavy bursts, so a wet month is not a washout every day, but a month of work with an outdoor plan will not go smoothly.

January is the turning month: 156 mm and about 16 rainy days, a little over half the days. February (73 mm, about 12 days) is the first month that works for most people. March and April are the dry months, with about 8 and 4 rainy days, and cloud falling to 60 and 56 percent.

Which month is best for a stay in Boracay?

March, if you can choose one: the driest at 41 mm, with a 28° high. April has the fewest rainy days and is the hottest of the six winter months at 29°. February is the first good month. November and December are fine if price matters more than sun, not if you want beach days, and January is a mixed month with rain on about half the days. If you are heading to the Philippines for Christmas, plan Boracay for after mid-February and use somewhere drier before it.

Is Palawan a better winter base than Boracay?

For dry weather in December to February, yes. Palawan dries out about a month or two earlier:

December in Palawan is still wet, but a lot better than Boracay; January is much drier, and February is the driest month of either place. Palawan is also hotter by day in March and April. Read the Palawan month-by-month guide for the full picture, and Siargao if you are thinking about the surf island: it is the wettest of the three from December to February.

What about May and June?

May is the hottest month at 30°, with 200 mm of rain on about 8 days, so it is still workable as the dry window ends, and a few late-season weeks are a fair gamble. June is the turn: 277 mm and about 15 rainy days, and cloud at 85 percent. If you want beach days, treat April as the last good month.

What about typhoons and the wet season?

The wet months in the Philippines run roughly from June to October, and Boracay's rain peaks in July. Typhoons are not only a summer risk, though: late-season storms still cross the central Philippines in November and December. Typhoon Phanfone made landfall in Aklan, next to Boracay, on Christmas Day 2019, and damaged the island's airport. Our monthly averages cannot show single storms, so if you book November or December, keep the dates flexible and follow the forecast. That is one more reason we would not book the first half of the cool season on the strength of the "dry season" label. For the wider winter picture see where is warm in December and where is warm in April.

What does this mean for working from Boracay?

Humidity stays between 81 and 86 percent all winter, so the air feels heavy even in the dry months, and air conditioning is the thing to check before you rent. Rain matters most for connection and power on a small island: a wet month means more interruptions, so the dry window is also the easier one to work in. Book early for February to April, because those are the months everyone else has worked out too. This page is weather only; check flights, ferries and internet for the island separately.

How sure are these numbers?

They are month-of-year averages for one point on the island, from stored climate data (Open-Meteo archive and CHIRPS rain totals, 2015 to 2025). A single year can be wetter or drier, and a small island can have rain on one side and sun on the other. The Palawan point is El Nido, in the north; Coron and Puerto Princesa can differ.
